The Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, Dr Sandra Paulemon, spoke on Tuesday, on behalf of the 14 CARICOM member states, at the ECOSOC 2026 Forum on Financing for Development. She emphasized the challenges linked to debt and climate impacts, pleading for increased mobilization of private capital, a fair multilateral trading system and a profound reform of the international financial architecture. Ms. Paulemon called for the integration of the multidimensional vulnerability index in resource allocation, strengthening financial safety nets and increased participation of small island states in global decisions.
