Default, rain, and two lopsided matches were the order of last weekend’s fixtures in the 2026 National Lotteries Authority TPBO Softball Cricket Competition, at the Dauphine Playing Field.
It was a bad start for organisers in Saturday’s first planned match, as Vinlec Power Stars failed to show up for their encounter versus Duck Squad, giving the latter easy points.
Saturday’s second match, though, was interrupted by rain, leaving Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble and Fairbaine United Spartan to share the points.
In play possible, Fairbaine United was dismissed for 97 in 10.5 overs, with Andrew Glasgow making a hefty 65.
Richie Richards who scalped 3 for 15, and Travis Cumberbatch 2 for 20, were the key wicket takers for Out Ah Trouble.
Heavy rains did not permit, Out Ah Trouble’s reply.
However, Sunday’s two matches were played in full.
First up, Dauphine United won by 4 wickets over Greiggs Young Stars.
Greiggs Young Stars scored 145 for 9 in 20 overs, with Derron John hitting 28, Kevon Phillips 27, and Zevon Walker 20.
Bowling for Dauphine United, Danroy Hazell had 4 for 15, Raji Questelles 2 for 21, and Asborne Franklyn 2 for 37.
Dauphine United in reply scored 149 for 6 in 15.3 overs, led by Kimani Thomas 53, Nicholas Holder 30 not out and Juwan Laborde, 20.
Rod Collins 3 for 40, was Greiggs Young Stars’ most successful bowler.
In Sunday’s second match, Dr. Thomas Injectors overcame East Kingstown by 84 runs. Dr Thomas injectors posted 200 for 9 in 20 overs.
The main contributors to that total were Wendell Corridon 45, Javar Cain 32, Bradley Richards 27, Javon Nero 25 and Kentish Phillips 20.
For East Kingstown, Kevin Edwards took 3 for 36, Felix Greaves 2 for 28, and Joel Gould 2 for 30.
Gould then hit 44, but that was not enough as East Kingstown reached 116 for 9 in their 20 overs.
East Kingstown was undone by the bowling of Bradley Richards, who snared 3 for 15, Wayne Garraway 3 for 21, and Javar Cain 2 for 13.
