A three-man national team left for Guadeloupe on Wednesday, June 24, to take part in Friday’s Boxing Gala. The Gwada Boxing Club invited the team, and newcomer Ethan Reneau is among the boxers.
Reneau, 18, comes from Mon Repos, Micoud. The left-handed lightweight earned his spot on the team through hard work and dedication.
“His selection is a testament to discipline, consistency, and belief in the process,” said Shannon Lebourne, vice president of the Boxing Association. “Young athletes across Saint Lucia should see this as proof that hard work does pay off. We are proud of him and confident he will represent the nation with pride.”
Reneau will compete alongside two experienced teammates in Guadeloupe. Kyle Marcel is set for the 75-kilogram elite class, and Danaii Cooman will fight in the 60kg elite division. Their coach, Conrad Fredericks, will guide the trio.
