The judges of the Collegiate Court of the Judicial District of Villa Altagracia sentenced María Luisa (Mary Louise) Ventura Garrido for the murder of the dancer and actress Patricia Antonia Ascuasiati Domínguez.
Ascuasiati Domínguez died in a health center in Santo Domingo several days after being run over by Ventura Garrido, around 4:00 p.m. February 15, 2022near kilometer 40 of the Duarte Highway, in the municipality of Villa Altagracia, San Cristóbal province.
In the process, the Villa Altagracia Prosecutor’s Office established that Both women were traveling aboard a sedan-type car.white, driven by Ventura Garrido.
It details that, while they were moving through the indicated place, the victim asked Ventura Garrido to stop the vehicle on the right in order to drive it during the rest of the trip to Santo Domingo, after warning him that he was driving recklessly.
It indicates that when the defendant stopped the vehicle on the right, the victim got out of the car in order to move towards the driver’s door. Just at the moment when Ascuasiati Domínguez crossed in front of the front of the car, she was suddenly run over by Ventura Garrido.
The prosecutor José Andrés Fernández Javier was in charge of the investigation and litigation of the case.
The Public Ministry asked judges Massiel Ivette Alonzo Rodríguez, Ana Hernández and Kenty Nuesi, of the Collegiate Court of the Judicial District of Villa Altagracia, the imposition of a 20-year prison sentence against Ventura Garridoby establishing with different means of evidence that he committed the homicide of Ascuasiati Domínguez, in violation of articles 295 and 304 of the Dominican Penal Code.
