According to Markeš, the emerging “coalition of liars” is also the reason why Trumpism is clinging to Slovenia.
Žerdin highlights a recent one the speech of British King Charles III. in the US Congress, where the king emphasized the importance of a system of checks and balances. The same system is now sorely lacking in the Slovenian parliament. “Now you will only have clients who do not represent business, but capital and lobby interests. That’s going to be an awfully big problem. At the same time, you will have a party that pretends to be in the opposition, occupying potentially the most vital control mechanisms in the parliament, which the opposition should get,” warns Markeš.
While Trumpism is booming in Slovenia, the awareness is growing in Europe that America is a thing of the past for Europe, according to Markeš. “It’s simple, you have to stand on your own two feet,” says the commentator. But Markeš is critical of Europe dealing with Israel, only when Israel arrests their citizensbut not when he is committing genocide against the Palestinians. He concludes that Europe should impose sanctions on Israel in addition to war reparations, as it demanded from Germany. “Netanyahu and Israel will have to pay for the devastation they left in the Middle East,” concludes Markeš.
