Snorri Steinn Guðjónsson, the national men’s handball team coach, today introduced the team that will face Egypt in two friendly matches in the middle of next month.
There are a lot of changes between projects and many of Iceland’s key players are missing, but they are either rested or struggling with injuries.
Snorri spoke to mbl.is today and reported that Viggó Kristjánsson and Ýmir Örn Gíslason were not in the team due to injuries. Then he said Ómar Inga Magnússon and Elvar Örn Jónsson were crippled.
Snorri decided to give Gísla Þorgei Kristjánsson a day off, but Gísla has been under a lot of pressure in recent weeks and months.
Janus Daði Smárason is not in the group, but he has been struggling with a shoulder injury in recent weeks. He plays with the Hungarian team Pick Szeged but is unable to practice much.
