THE SP PNG Hunters board and management have thrown their support behind the coaching staff, confirming there will be no changes despite the team’s difficult run in the 2026 Hostplus Cup season.
Questions have continued to grow around the future of the coaching group as the Hunters remain at the bottom of the competition ladder.
But chief executive officer Scott Barker says the club remains united and focused on long-term improvement rather than quick decisions.
Speaking on the team’s current situation, Barker revealed that management and the board recently met to review a wide range of club matters, including coaching and planning for next season.
However, he made it clear that there were no concerns at this stage over the current coaching setup.
“The board and management met last week, as we always do normally and discuss the whole range of topics, including coaching and next year and things like that, there’ll be no changes this year,” Barker said.
“We’re very comfortable with the coaching stuff we have.”
He said both management and the board remain comfortable with the direction being taken by the coaching staff and believe the team is still building towards success.
