A man was shot during a robbery on Monday night (20) in the Vila Olímpia region, south of São Paulowhen trying to recover the cell phone that had been stolen by criminals. His identity was not disclosed.
The case occurred on Rua Gomes de Carvalho. According to Military Policethe victim was hit in the left collarbone and right hand and taken to the emergency room at Hospital São Paulo. The boy had to be hospitalized.
The man was next to his girlfriend, and both his and her cell phones were taken by the robbers — there were two, according to the PM, each on a motorcycle. The Military Police found five capsules at the scene and one ammunition still intact.
The criminals fled and were not identified. The SSP (Public Security Secretariat) declared that investigations into the case are ongoing, and the Civil Police investigate the episode.
SIMILAR CASES
The case was at least the fourth involving victims shot during robberies in recent days. On the morning of last Sunday (19), a man was killed in Moema when trying to help a couple who were being robbed. He was shot by the suspect, who was on a motorcycle. The man was 46 years old and was taken to Hospital São Paulo, but did not survive.
Also on Sunday, the police officer GCM (Metropolitan Civil Guard) Sara Andrade dos Reis was shot dead on the Imigrantes highway, south of the city. The suspicion is armed robbery. The agent’s weapon was taken by the criminals.
Last Thursday (16), a 42-year-old man was also killed while trying to help a victim escaping a robbery in Vila Calu, south of the capital. He threw the car at the two robbers, but one of them managed to get up and fired. The man was hit in the head and died at the scene.
In all four cases, the suspects managed to escape. So far, no one has been arrested. The SSP states that it is investigating the incidents.
