MOZYR DISTRICT, 24 April (BelTA) – In Belarus it is necessary to make up minds about the warranty repair of machines and vehicles and about the timeframe, during which the manufacturer bears warranty responsibility. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement at a seminar-conference on agricultural services, the organization of repair and restoration of agricultural machines and vehicles, BelTA has learned.
The head of state emphasized that the issue of warranty repair and maintenance of agricultural machines and vehicles must be resolved. “If you make a low-quality product, take it back and restore it at your own expense. Warranty service must be provided. We need to revisit this issue in the government and make up our minds,” the president said.
In his words, this issue is becoming particularly relevant due to the emergence of very complex machines and vehicles such as grain and forage harvesters from Gomselmash, tractors from MTZ, automobiles, and the like. Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that such machines are now written off quite often after a relatively short period of operation and are dumped. Although they could be returned to service and positive examples of that are available. “It is good that people from Gomel taught us how to restore these tractors, making one out of two or two out of three. The results vary. Good machines and cheaper than new ones,” the head of state noted.
He emphasized that specific rules and timeframes for vehicle depreciation need to be established: “We should give a clear signal to people on the ground, to the accounting departments of various agricultural enterprises. Even if it kills you, you will not write it off. You have to store it, take care of it, restore it. That is up to the executive now.”
The same applies to warranty repair and maintenance. “We need to decide on warranty repair of machines and vehicles: how many years the plant will bear warranty responsibility. There is no need to force poor-quality machines onto peasants. We need to force industrial enterprises to do quality work,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
