Netanyahu orders new attacks on Hezbollah
After the Israeli army accused the Lebanese Hezbollah militia of several violations of the current ceasefire, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered new attacks. The prime minister had instructed the army to “strongly attack Hezbollah targets in Lebanon,” his office said on Saturday evening.
The Israeli army had previously reported that Hezbollah fighters had attacked soldiers in the Kantara region with drones. In the south of Lebanon, the army also “eliminated more than 15 terrorists” and discovered a weapons cache with anti-tank missiles and Kalashnikov rifles.
US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the ceasefire in Lebanon would be extended by three weeks. However, Israel and the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia continued their mutual attacks.
