Lieutenant General Saïd Changriha received the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Director of the General Department of Policy of the Vietnamese People’s Army.
A statement by the Ministry of National Defense said on Saturday that Lieutenant General Said Changriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, received at the headquarters of the People’s National Army Lieutenant General Nguyen Trung Nghia, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Director of the General Department of Policy of the Vietnamese People’s Army.
The two parties held talks on military cooperation between the two countries and exchanged analyzes and views on issues of common interest
The statement explained that Lieutenant General Saeed Shangriha welcomed the guest and his accompanying delegation, noting that the visit is a new building block on the path of strengthening our joint military cooperation and an important step towards raising it to higher levels in a way that serves the interests of our two friendly countries.
The first team said, “The relations between Algeria and Vietnam are historical and humanitarian par excellence, woven by common suffering and national resistance against colonialism, deepened by revolutionary solidarity and enriched by mutual respect, continuous political consultation, and tireless work to build a strategic and ideal partnership between the countries of the South.”
He added, “Vietnam was one of the first countries to support the Algerian revolution and embraced delegations from the National Liberation Front and shared its experiences in armed struggle and revolutionary organization. It was one of the first countries to recognize the interim government of the Republic of Algeria.”
Lieutenant General Shangriha continued, saying: “This history of struggle and shared human solidarity was fertile ground for building a strong friendship relationship and a catalyst for raising the level of cooperation and partnership in line with our common endeavors and our aspiration to build capable, emerging and effective national states at the international level.”
“In the end, I can only assure you once again that the relations between Algeria and Vietnam were never a fleeting or circumstantial relationship, but rather relations born from the womb of suffering, matured in a time of revolutions, and were consolidated over decades of mutual trust and human solidarity. I also assure you in this regard of our full readiness to move forward in developing military cooperation between our two institutions in a way that serves the interests of our two countries and increases the chances of progress and prosperity for our two friendly peoples.”
For his part, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his happiness at visiting Algeria and his constant aspiration to work on strengthening military cooperation relations, praising the level of multidimensional coordination between the two friendly countries.
