The Penitentiary Center of Comella had 55 inmates as of March 31, a figure that represents one 35.9% employment of its total capacity, set at 153 places, according to data published by Department of Statistics.
The vast majority of inmates are men. Specifically, there are 52, which represent 94.5% of the total, while the women are three, 5.5%. In terms of nationality, the largest group is that of people of other nationalities, with 23 interns, followed by spanishwith 13, the Andorranswith 12, i the portuguesewith thirst
Crimes related to consumption, trafficking or possession of drugs they are the most common among the inmate population, with 12 cases. They are followed by thefts and assaults, crimes against sexual freedom or pornography, with seven cases each. There are also four cases of contraband and four of injuries or abuse.
During the first quarter of the year they were registered 27 penitentiary income. Of these, 25 correspond to men and two to women. The most numerous age group is that of 21 to 35 yearswith 13 incomes, followed by people over 35, with 12. The people between 18 and 20 years add two incomes and none were recorded among minors.
The data is collected equally 19 convictions during the quarter. Eighteen affect men and one corresponds to a woman. Of the total, thirteen convictions were still ongoing, 68.4%, while six had already ended, 31.6%. Sentences of between one and three months are the most frequent, with 11 cases, 57.9% of the total.
