KTV The Remix Season 8 officially got underway on Tuesday night, as 12 contestants from across Belize took to the stage at the Bliss Centre for the Performing Arts in Belize City, all hoping to win the competition’s grand prize of BZ$10,000.
The season opened with a special performance by reigning KTV champion Darlon Usher, who returned to the stage with a rendition of Así Fue by Juan Gabriel, reminding audiences why he captured the Season 7 title.
The premiere featured a diverse lineup of performances spanning multiple musical genres. Contestants Jada Weiss, Bhumika Nandwani, Tamika Gordon, Trevet Campos and Tiana Sterling delivered emotional and captivating performances, while Judson Baker, Tiana Lopez, Saul Briceno and Wendy Leiva energised the audience with their stage presence.
Meanwhile, Jamir Valentine, J. Asjhane and Vince The Prince showcased original music, highlighting Belize’s growing pool of local songwriting talent. From country music to soulful classics and original compositions, the opening night reflected the diversity of Belize’s emerging music scene.
