Tina Evaldsen will lead children and young people at Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq in the future.
It has been found a new director for children and school in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq. The municipality has hired Tina Evaldsen, whom the employment committee has unanimously identified as the right candidate for the position.
This is stated by Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq on their website.
With the appointment, the municipality gets an experienced and change-oriented director with solid management experience from both the social and healthcare fields.
Tina Evaldsen comes from a position as head of the National Board of Health and Welfare and was previously head of department in Paarisa. Here, she has worked purposefully with health promotion and prevention and has gained extensive experience with cross-functional collaboration.
– Throughout her career, Tina Evaldsen has shown strong competencies in management, collaboration and development. She has an important understanding of the connections between well-being, prevention and children’s development, and we look forward to putting her experience to use in our work with children and young people, says municipal director Ole Jakobsen in the press release.
Area of great importance
The new director is also looking forward to it.
– I am very much looking forward to becoming part of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq and to working with children and school. It is an area of great importance for the future, and I look forward to contributing to the continued development in close cooperation with managers, employees and business partners, she says.
Tina Evaldsen is 49 years old and also has experience from Nuuk Municipality and is now looking forward to returning to the municipality in a new role.
She takes office on 1 May 2026.
