The former fiancée of Adrian Gibson testified yesterday that she formed several companies that received contracts from the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) while he served as its chairman.
Alexandria Mackey is a key witness in the case as prosecutors seek to convince a jury that Gibson engaged in self-dealing during his tenure.
Gibson is on trial along with former Water and Sewerage Corporation General Manager Elwood Donaldson Jr., his barber and friend Jerome Missick, his former campaign manager Joann Knowles, and Peaches Farquharson.
Mackey, who has been granted immunity as a cooperating witness, testified that she formed Elite Maintenance and Baha Maintenance after Gibson told her that he planned to award contracts to those companies.
Mackey testified that she handled the companies’ finances until Gibson accused her of stealing $200,000 from him.
That’s when Mackey alleged that Gibson directed his cousin Rashae Gibson to transfer money from Elite Maintenance’s account to Edwaleno Holdings.
Director of Public Prosecutions Cordell Frazier asked, “Do you know the beneficial owner of Edwaleno Holdings?”
The witness replied, “Mr. Gibson.”
Frazier asked, “Do you know the shareholders of Edwaleno Holdings?”
She replied, “Initially, Lanardo Gibson and Rashae Gibson, but it was changed to Rashae Gibson and Jerome Missick.”
The trial, which began in 2023, continues today.
