Zagreb Classic was opened by the cooperation of the Zagreb Philharmonic with the Iranian pianist Bahrami

Until September 3, the public can expect a series of nine free concerts on Zagreb’s Trg Kralja Tomislava, and last night the honor of opening the now traditional event, music under the stars, went to the program “Bahrami Plays Bach”. It is a collaboration of the Zagreb Philharmonic, as announced in the program, with one of the most interesting interpreters of music. Johann Sebastian Bachan Iranian pianist Ramin Bahrami. The concert brought a sumptuous blend of romantic orchestral imagery, from scenes from Peer Gynt and colorful Slavic dances to the timeless elegance of Bach’s manuscript, at the center of which is precisely the dialogue between the soloist and the orchestra. He led the program Dawid Runtzchief conductor of the Zagreb Philharmonic since 2021, and one of the most respected European conductors of the younger generation.
By the way, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, an orchestra with more than 150 years of tradition, confirms its key role in shaping the identity of “Zagreb Classic” with four festival concerts this year.
