A difficult drama took place in the Italian town of Barano d’Ischia, where a woman was savagely attacked by her own pit bull and caused life-threatening injuries, the Italian portal writes. tg24.
The attack took place in the family house, or in its immediate vicinity, at the moment when the woman approached the dog to feed it. Her partner, also the co-owner of the animal, was absent at that moment because he was undergoing hospital treatment.
For unknown reasons, the dog suddenly attacked the owner and attacked her with great force. Her screams and calls for help alarmed the neighbors, who immediately called the emergency services. Emergency medical personnel and the police quickly arrived on the field, and in order to stop the attack and enable intervention, the police were forced to kill the dog.
The woman was rushed to the Anna Rizzoli Hospital in Lacco Amen with serious injuries, where she underwent a demanding operation. Due to the severity of her injuries, doctors had to amputate her left leg. She is currently undergoing treatment, and her condition remains very serious.
According to information from local sources, there have been previously recorded incidents with the same dog in which the owners died, as well as with other dogs they cared for. The police are continuing the investigation in order to shed light on all the circumstances of this shocking event.
