The State Information Service, in cooperation with the partner services, especially the Israeli one, are documenting and monitoring the organizations and movements of the organizers of the protest, an activity which seems to violate the constitutional order, attempting to undermine the democratic form of governance of Albania. As the protest for the overthrow of the government, in the fourth and fifth week, has been decreasing and turned into acts of violence, the coordinating group is trying to form a National Civic Assembly, the Flamingo Revolution Assembly, a parallel structure to the Assembly of Albania.
Although without a legal and virtual basis, the Assembly of the Revolution has been joined by over 700 candidates, supporters and participants in the protests against the government and the political system. In the Whatsapp group opened by one of the members of the coordination group, Përparim Gjeka, some of the candidates to become part of the National Assembly have also published CVs of their political and professional activities.
The Assembly will consist of 150 members in its regular composition and up to 300 members in the expanded composition, which will also include representatives from the diaspora. This body will have the power to propose the names of the transitional technical government and coordinate the actions of the protest. It remains unclear how the members of the National Civic Assembly will be selected, if they will automatically become a member just by becoming part of the Whatsapp group, if they will be filtered by Gjeka or if some other structure will be set up for the selection.
Until this stage, the Israeli service and SHISH have identified every person who has become part of this organization without any legal basis, neither as an association, nor as a foundation, nor as a political party, etc. The profile of the candidates is being analysed, while the organizing group is under monitoring for other steps, due to suspicions of any attempted conspiracy against the state. It remains to be seen whether we will have investigations by the State Police and the engagement of the prosecution body for possible criminal offenses that violate the constitutional order.
