SAN MARINO – The San Marino National Fair Play Committee adheres to the International Day of Peace, which is celebrated every year on 21 September, relaunching a message in favor of peace, non-violence and the cessation of hostilities in ongoing conflicts.
Established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly, the anniversary represents a moment of awareness aimed at states, organizations and citizens on the importance of dialogue and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
The theme indicated for 2026 is “Investing in Peace: for everyone, everywhere, every day” (“Invest in Peace – For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day”), with a reference to the “everyday architects of Peace”, the people who through concrete actions contribute to stability and social justice in their communities.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the San Marino National Fair Play Committee draws attention to the numerous ongoing conflicts and the importance of building collective awareness against war.
«It is a fundamental day in a world afflicted by wars – underlines the CNSFP – because the first step towards the end of hostilities lies in the common awareness that war is always unjust».
