The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) began this Thursday the construction work of the Antera Mota School playground in this coastal city, headquarters of the homonymous sports league.
The executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez, highlighted that the initiative is limited to the orders of President Luis Abinader, who has the institutional commitment to developing decent and safe infrastructures that positively impact the educational community and its surroundings, encouraging the practice of sports and healthy lifestyles, as well as the constructive use of time.
“We thank everyone present, especially Arturo Heinsen, former secretary general of the Dominican Football Federation, as well as all the officials, sports leaders and students present at this event that marks the beginning of the creation of a new space for children and young people to develop their talent in our beautiful sport,” said Rodríguez Mella.
The INEFI has renovated another six baseball stadiums nationwide, including the María Auxiliadora Oratory, in the National District; Francisco del Rosario Sánchez School (San Juan de la Maguana), Camila Henríquez School (Prados de la Caña, San Antonio de Guerra), Juan Bautista Zafra School (Santo Domingo Este), Víctor Garrido Puello School (DN) and the Augusto Daneri Stadium, in Azua, benefiting thousands of students from those areas.
Ginnette Bournigal praises the work of INEFI
For her part, Senator Ginnette Bournigal praised and classified as extraordinary the work carried out by the INEFI, under the executive direction of Alberto Rodríguez, which contributes to the strengthening of recreation and school baseball.
The congresswoman made her statements moments before Rodríguez Mella gave the signal of honor to begin the construction of the modern sports facility.
In this regard, Rodríguez Mella thanked Bournigal for his words, among other prominent sports officials and leaders, highlighting that for several years he has been supervising and contributing to the repairs and constructions of several stadiums and sports centers, among which he mentioned the Gustavo Bejal and Fabio Rafael González clubs.
Present at the event were the provincial governor, Claritza de Senior; the deputy director general of INEFI, Elvys Duarte; the mayor of Puerto Plata, Roque García; deputies Fiordaliza Estévez and Emil Durán; the regional director María Rojas and the director of the educational center, Kenia Domínguez.
Councilors Roque de León, Danny García, Enmanuel Brito and Ana Hilda Carrasco also met, as well as the person in charge of the construction of the play, Luis Mata, and the coordinator of the INEFI in this district Hugo González, and the players and coaches of the Antera Mota Sports League, along with its president Antonio Irizarry (Loli).
The words of gratitude were expressed by the student Asthery María Lantigua, who represented all the students and teachers of that educational center.
