The handball players of Ohrid finally found the recipe for Alkaloid this season, celebrating in the derby in Autokomanda with 27-26. With this victory, Ohridians made a significant step forward in the Superliga table, climbing to second place ahead of Pelister.
The host opened the match better and in the opening minutes had control of the result, creating a three-goal advantage (7-4), which it maintained until 9-7. Then there was a turn, the guests took the initiative and with a 4-0 run they took the lead again (11-10).
The finish of the first half belonged to the team led by Boris Rojevicwho played the best in those moments and created a convincing advantage of five goals, going into the break with 17-12.
Ohrid maintained the high difference in the second half as well, but Alkaloid did not give up. In the last ten minutes, the chosen ones of Kiril Lazarov they managed to get close to only two goals negative, and they also had an attack for minus one. However, goalkeeper Pilipović shined with a key intervention, keeping the guests’ advantage (21-23 in the 52nd minute).
Although Alkaloid came close again at the finish, the time was not enough for a complete turnaround, so the points went to Ohrid’s account.
