A grandmother and a grandson were killed, and 12 others were injured.
On the night of April 22, Ukrainian drones attacked the city of Sizran, Samara region, and a four-story building was destroyed.
Rescuers found the bodies of two people under the ruins, FVV reported that it was an elderly woman and a child. Later, the Mash Telegram channel clarified that it was a grandmother and granddaughter who lived in the same apartment. Another 12 people were injured, three of them were hospitalized.
Rescuers pulled out four more people, including a child, alive from under the rubble. A total of 39 people were evacuated from the house, and the authorities promised to establish a temporary accommodation point for them. The search has now been completed.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on the terrorist attack. According to the office, a total of 11 drone attacks were recorded in Sizran.
Sources of Mash and Baza reported that another of the drones crashed into a ten-story residential building. A fire broke out in one of the apartments on the sixth floor of this building, and two cars caught fire due to the fall of drone fragments. No injuries were reported.
Some pubs in Ukraine wrote that one of the drones deviated from the course due to the “activities of the Russian air defense system” and crashed into a residential building. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not comment on the attack.
As Astra Telegram channel points out, the destroyed house is located about three kilometers from the Sizran oil refinery. This plant has been attacked by Ukrainian drones several times before, the last one was recorded on April 18. After one such attack in December, the plant stopped processing oil completely.
According to “Agenstvo” publication, since the beginning of the war, this was the first case related to the collapse of a residential building in the interior of Russia as a result of the Ukrainian attack. The distance from the city of Sizran to the official border of the Russian Federation and Ukraine is more than 700 kilometers.
