iCar Prime – warranty from day one: what is a car 0 km from the importer really worth to you?

The Israeli customer, and basically every customer in the world, has a series of key questions when he begins the process of buying a car. How much does it cost, what engine does it have, how many accessories do you get, what is the fuel consumption (or driving range, in the case of Electric vehicle), is there a normal color in stock, and if possible, also how quickly you receive it. The list could be longer or shorter, but the principle is similar.

And that’s natural. A car is a big purchase, and no one wants to feel like they overpaid or missed out on a good opportunity. But precisely within the whole search for the right deal, there is one section that is sometimes passed over too quickly: the responsibility.

Not because he is not important. vice versa. Simply because a less warranty is photographed well from a large screen, less exciting than a panoramic roof, and it is less easy to compare it in an equipment table. And basically every new car has a warranty, right? Well, the answer is yes, but the details vary. And on the day you need this warranty, it can be one of the most important things you got with the car. And this is especially true in 0 km vehicles.

For those who don’t know yet

A 0 km vehicle is a fairly simple idea: a vehicle that has not been driven, which is offered as a purchase opportunity from existing inventory. In terms of your use, you get a new vehicle: you are the first to actually drive it, you are the ones who rip the nylons off it and you are the first to maneuver it into parking spaces, stand in traffic with it and go on trips with the children or to work. You get the option to purchase it at a discount.

The advantage is clear: you can get a new car in any respect, at a more attractive price than a normal new car. That’s why this market is growing, and that’s why more Israelis already understand that there is nothing strange or unusual here. It’s just another way to buy a car. But as always with a car, the question is not only what you buy – but also who you buy from and in what context.

Because unlike a standard new car that is almost always bought at the importer’s official showroom, a car with a 0 km deal can also be bought from other parties – for example from a leasing company or a private dealer.

This is where “Direct” from Delek Motors comes into the picture – the official outlet channel of the importer, which concentrates purchase opportunities for new 0 km vehicles, according to the changing inventory. The idea is not to complicate the process, but to make it clear: you see an offer, you understand what is included, you can reserve online, and everything comes from the importer.

Warranty is not a bonus, it is part of the price

Along with the discount and the various financing conditions, the warranty is a significant part of the economic value of the deal. This is because a modern vehicle has long been more than just an engine, transmission and four wheels. In fact, he never was. But today even a popular car includes systems safety Actives, cameras, sensors, computers, screens, multimedia systems, electric drive systems with expensive batteries in some models, and quite a few other components that no one wants to repair out of their own pocket if something goes wrong.

One malfunction in a significant component can cost hundreds and thousands of shekels, and in some cases even much more. Not always. Not in every car. Not by any fault. But the risk is there, and it’s part of life with a modern car. This is where responsibility comes into play. It does not guarantee that there will never be a breakdown, but it does define a framework: what is covered, who takes care of it, where to turn, and what does not automatically fall on the car owner’s pocket. And it’s worth money. Sometimes a lot of money.

Why is the day from which the warranty is counted important?

When talking about warranty, it is not enough to ask “how many years?”. You should also ask: “When?”. This point was taken for granted for years, when we bought a new car only in the importer’s official showroom. But in a car with 0 km, it’s a matter worth talking about.

Because as far as you are concerned, the vehicle begins its life the day you received the keys. It’s the day he leaves the world of inventory, paperwork and preparations for delivery – and enters the real world: daily commutes, August heat, city roads, crowded parking lots and the family’s first trip up north.

But when you buy a car with a 0 km deal, the date when the warranty begins is a matter that needs to be ascertained, since in some cases you may discover that the warranty already began on the day the vehicle “hit the road”. That is, it never hit the road, but on the day the vehicle license was printed – the warranty clock started ticking backwards. If you buy a vehicle that was already registered, let’s say six months ago, or more, then you have in fact given up a significant part of the vehicle’s warranty period. This may turn out to be an expensive concession and painful

Delek Motors “Direct” solved this problem in a way that only an official importer can solve: they decided that the warranty would start on the day the customer’s vehicle was delivered. In simple words: the period is counted from the moment you actually start using the vehicle.

It sounds almost self-evident, but in the world of 0 km vehicles, this is a point worth paying attention to. It can affect the length of the actual warranty period, the sense of security in the transaction, and also the value of the vehicle down the road.

    What does it actually give?

First of all, a clear address. Not “we’ll see who to turn to”, not “we’ll check who’s responsible”, but an official importer who stands behind the vehicle within the terms of the warranty. With the network of service centers supervised by the manufacturer, with the professional training that the service personnel undergo by the person who manufactured the vehicle, with everything that is included in the high standard of an international car manufacturer.

Second, certainty. You know when the warranty starts, know that it is part of the deal, and know that the vehicle comes from an official channel. And third, fewer surprises. No one buys a new car with malfunctions in mind. But if something does happen, it’s better to get there with an organized framework than to start finding out in retrospect what you deserve, when, and in front of whom.

This is actually the difference between a “good price” and a “smart deal”. A smart deal is not necessarily the one that looks the cheapest on the bottom line of the ad. It is the one in which the characteristics surrounding the price are also reflected: the origin of the vehicle, the warranty, the service, the transparency and the address the day after. That we won’t have to, but let it be.
