Humane gesture from Čelinac: Free car for the sick

ČELINAC – Humanity is not lost. There are still people who come to people’s aid in difficult times, and one of them is Dejan Radujković, the owner of the car lot, who decided to give his car for free for a few hours to the residents of Čelinac who need a vehicle to take the sick to the doctor.

    Conditions for using the vehicle

    • Possession of a category B driver’s license
    • The driver must not be under the influence of alcohol
    • Use exclusively for the transport of the sick
    • Returning the vehicle after use

    Posted the ad on Facebook

This humanitarian posted the ad a few days ago on Facebook, and he tells “Nezavisne novine” how he came up with the idea of giving his fellow citizens cars to use.

“I have a lot of vehicles on balance and I’m a rental car business, so people ask if I can get a car. Basically, they need to take someone somewhere, and the day before I was going to announce the status, a man from Čelinac came to me, who has four children and is not in a very good financial situation. The child had a health problem, which is why they had to go to UKC RS, and his car was not registered, so he asked me if he could rent a vehicle from me. I said yes,” he says. Radujković.

He didn’t want to take the money

And after two or three hours, the man called him to give him money, but he decided not to charge him.

“I didn’t want to take money and I just said: ‘It’s important that you solved it.’ From all this, the idea was born to help others if I could, because those two or three hours mean nothing to me. In all of this, the man’s biggest pain is that he had to take a car,” he emphasizes.

According to him, most of the people in Čelinac know him, and so he knows most of them, which is why he decided to organize this humane action only in the territory of this municipality.

Of course, there are conditions for those to whom he gives the car to use, but they are not difficult to fulfill.

“I wrote in the announcement that I give the vehicle in case the person has a category B driver’s license and is not under the influence of alcohol. So, only in that case you get the vehicle, take a child or an elderly, infirm person to the doctor for an examination and return the vehicle,” explains Radujković.

    Hard times

He emphasizes that in this difficult time, where people are struggling and often making ends meet, he can help at least that much.

He adds that his announcement went beyond the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and states that people are contacting him from all over the world, and that most of the reactions are positive.

    Negative comments

But, as he says, there are always those who see something bad in everything, so there were people who commented negatively on his post, but he doesn’t pay attention to them.

“I hope that after this announcement, others will decide to do something similar and help people who really need it. Our little means a lot to someone. Let’s be humane!”, says Radujković.

Finally, he adds that all information regarding car rental can be obtained at 065/073-472.
