The local officials said that in this center, the people who are interested have been given the opportunity to learn and develop traditional arts and crafts.
Maulvi Abdul Matin Adel, Minister of Culture and Arts of the Department of Information and Culture, says that some parts of traditional arts and modern styles are also being worked on in this Art Gallery, and efforts are being made to develop the artistic talents of the youth and to protect the ancient handicrafts.
He says that providing a suitable market for handicrafts can provide the basis for the further growth of these arts and the creation of economic opportunities.
Local officials say that the making of tasbih, glass making, miniatures, carving, wood crafts, painting, embroidery and some other handicrafts are the arts that are taught in Herat Dar al-Funun.
