The president of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ), Luis Henry Molina, affirmed that the Dominican judicial system is moving towards a model of efficiency and transparency under the Justice Plan of the Future 2034, a vision that seeks to align the courts with the highest international standards.
During the opening of the 2026 Judiciary Conference, in the presence of President Luis Abinader and former President Leonel Fernández, Molina highlighted that planning has translated into executable results. “Justice must be accessible, close, complete and open to criticism and dialogue,” he stated.
The magistrate highlighted significant advances that are already a reality in the Dominican system, such as the end of structural default, digital transformation and remote access.
On the issue of structural default, 90% of cases in the SCJ are resolved in less than a year, and due to the digital transformation, 100% of judicial documents have a digital signature and electronic files with full traceability.
Regarding remote access, more than 33,000 lawyers and citizens access their processes for free and virtually, eliminating transfers and lines.
Recognition of excellence Within the framework of the event, an emotional tribute was paid to Judge Olga Herrera Carbuccia for her impeccable career and for being the first Dominican to join the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
The Conference will continue to take place until April 11 in the Judicial City of Santo Domingo Este, with panels and forums focused on governance and structural reforms.
