Preside President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, today, Thursday, the annual graduation ceremony of the 2026 classes, at the Military Academy of Cherchell.
The President of the Republic supervised the awarding of military ranks and the handing over of certificates to the top achievers in various specializations and formations. He handed the certificate to the first achiever, Ziboush Osama, from the master’s course officers. He also awarded the first achiever in the basic training, Balsimi Noureddine, specializing in energy mechanics, the rank of lieutenant, and handed him the academy’s sword, before awarding the certificate to the first achiever in the basic joint military training from sisterly and friendly countries.
President Tebboune agreed to name the 57th batch of basic training after the late President Mujahid Liamine Zeroual. This tradition is one of the customs adopted in the military institution, where graduating classes are given the names of prominent national figures, in recognition of what they have provided to Algeria, and to consolidate the values of loyalty and inspiration from their path among the new generations of officers of the People’s National Army.
The graduation ceremony continued with field military parades that embodied the high level of training and discipline that characterizes the students of the Military Academy of Cherchell, as it included displays in martial arts, close intervention, and individual and group combat skills, in addition to simulations of field operations that reflected the readiness and professionalism enjoyed by members of the People’s National Army.
Today, Thursday, the President of the Republic arrived at the Military Academy of Cherchell, “the late President Houari Boumediene,” to supervise the annual graduation ceremony for the classes of 2026.
President Tebboune was received at the main entrance of the academy by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Saeed Chengriha, along with a number of senior military officials.
After listening to the national anthem, President Tebboune reviewed formations of various forces of the People’s National Army that performed military ceremonies for him, in accordance with the protocol adopted on such occasions.
The President of the Republic also paid tribute to the soul of the late President Houari Boumediene, whose name the academy bears, and laid a wreath in front of the memorial monument commemorating him, before reciting the opening of the book as a tribute to his pure soul, before the ceremony began.
It is noteworthy that the graduation ceremony took place in the presence of senior state officials, members of the government, executives and high-ranking officers in the People’s National Army.
The Ministry had announced earlier today that President Tebboune will supervise today the annual graduation ceremony of the classes of the “late President Houari Boumediene” Academy, after the visit made by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Saeed Chengriha to the military institution.
