The Dominican Government will begin this Friday the meetings with the political leaders seeking to achieve a national agreement to face the global crisis and reduce its impact on Dominican families in the face of the war conflict in the Middle East.
Minister José Ignacio Paliza spoke about the issue after the first meeting with businessmen held at the Ministry of the Presidency.
Paliza indicated that this Friday they will be received by the former president and president of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Danilo Medina, at 5:00 pm; and next Wednesday they will visit the former president and leader of the People’s Force, Leonel Fernández.
“This is a moment that unites us all and that obliges us all. It is not a moment of political values. Now, it is evident that they are the main representatives of the Dominican opposition who have always been there when at some point a nation, at some point a country, has required consultation, conversation, support, suggestions. There are issues that unite us all,” said Paliza.
Last Sunday, President Abinader instructed the ministries of the Presidency, Finance and Economy, Magín Díaz; and Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón; to convene dialogues to achieve a national consensus. Until the early hours of this Thursday, both parties had not received the official invitation from the Executive Branch.
“This is a crisis that is not ours, but that is affecting us, that affects the pockets of all Dominicans, in which the government has some capabilities but limited, because it unites us all,” exclaimed Paliza.
