Golob called for trust, patience, respect and connection
On the day of the rebellion against the occupier, according to Prime Minister Robert Golob, we remember the virtues of our ancestors, who united in the most difficult conditions and began to plan a rebellion against the occupying forces. Even in today’s uncertain and challenging times, he called for the strengthening of trust, patience and respect, and for integration.
“On the day of the rebellion against the occupier, we remember the courage, determination and principles of our ancestors, who in the most difficult conditions, in the desire for freedom and the preservation of our language, culture and national identity, united and began to plan a rebellion against the destructive occupying forces,” the Prime Minister, who is carrying out ongoing business, began his message on today’s holiday.
According to him, the establishment of the Liberation Front of the Slovenian Nation is not only a historical fact, but a permanent reminder and proof that Slovenians knew how to stand together in critical moments. “At a time when it seemed that violence would crush any rebellion, our ancestors chose courage, solidarity and integration,” he pointed out.
This heritage, like Golob, still appeals to us today. “It reminds us that the strength of our society does not come from the individual, but from integration: from common will, mutual help, responsibility and care for the well-being of all Slovenians,” he wrote. According to him, this is the only way we can build a safe, inclusive and resilient society and a common future.
“We live in times when the world is shaken by conflicts, uncertainty and challenges that require sober decisions and a principled attitude. That is why it is all the more important to strengthen trust, patience and respect, rather than divisive policies and hatred,” he emphasized.
“When constructive dialogue is replaced by intolerance and discord, when words of integration are replaced by the silence of exclusion, and when upright posture is replaced by calculation, what holds us together as a society, that is trust, breaks down,” he was critical.
According to him, everyone’s shared responsibility is to act differently – to listen to each other, maintain a respectful dialogue and look for common paths.
“Let today’s holiday remind us that we Slovenians are brave, in solidarity and committed to working for the common good. The future is not determined in advance, but we create it together, every day. This is precisely where our greatest strength lies,” he concluded his note on the day of the fight against the occupier, which we mark today.
