The
New York architect who admitted to murdering eight women in what became known as the Gilgo Beach killings was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday, winding up a long-unsolved case that stymied law enforcement for years as victims’ families searched for answers.
State Supreme Court Justice Timothy Mazzei sentenced Rex Heuermann to serve three consecutive life sentences, as well as a consecutive sentence of 100 years, without the possibility of parole for the murders on New York’s Long Island.
