In the industrial sector he said that “all factories working in the main production areas in Portugal”, referring to the textile, footwear and metalworking areas. The data, he said, was provided by CIP and some companies in this sector.

In relation to the transport sector, large supermarkets and commerce, “the doors are open”. “There was no disruption in the service of large supermarkets or in logistics, therefore the transport of goods and merchandise also proceeded normally”, stated Maria do Rosário Palma Ramalho.

In tourism, the data that reached the Government led the minister to state that “there is no disruption in the hotel industry or travel agencies”. “Due to joining TAP, there are indirect effects, but not on the operation,” he said.

In the agricultural sector, “the strike had no impact whatsoever.” “Even in the sector of large agricultural companies, operations are absolutely normal,” he stated.

In banking, “all branches are open”said the minister. “All central services are working,” he said.

As regards the construction sector “there was no effect either”according to the Minister of Labor.

Using data from MEO, the government official said that in telecommunications “we have 1.2% uptake”.

“In private hospitals there is no disturbance”, he said, based on data from the Portuguese Association of Private Hospitals. “Operation is normal.”

“And in the provision of outsourcing services, 1.3% adherence”, added the minister.

He mentioned that all this data must be confirmed throughout the day, but that “they are already significant”. “The overwhelming majority of private sector workers are working and in their workplaces”, he reinforced.
