Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate for St. George, Michael Freeland, says one of his campaign banners in Potters was ripped down following a United Progressive Party (UPP) rally, describing the incident as part of a broader pattern of vandalism targeting his campaign materials.
In a social media post shared Friday, Freeland said, “My banner in Potters was ripped off after the UPP rally last night. This is only the latest act of vandalism, following the taking down of posters and other campaign materials in East Berlin and other areas.”
He condemned the actions and urged those responsible to stop.
“I condemn these acts, and further call on any individuals involved in such activities, in St. George or any other constituencies, to desist,” Freeland said.
The ABLP candidate framed the incidents as a distraction from his campaign message, pointing instead to his platform and plans for the constituency.
“My record, plans and vision for this great constituency are clear. I call upon my supporters and well-wishers to remain resolute and focused as we gear up to take St. George into a New Era, on election day – April 30th,” he said.
Freeland also sought to rally support ahead of the polls, adding, “Together We Stand!”
