The working group, taking into account the opinions of stakeholders (teachers, parents, students, experts, etc.) on emerging issues within the framework of a unified school uniform, decided to leave unchanged government decree No. 572 of August 12, 2015 “On the introduction of uniform requirements for school uniforms in educational organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic.”

“In most cases, parents independently choose the uniform for their children in accordance with the requirement of “light top, dark bottom.” This practice is widespread and does not cause any difficulties or conflict situations in the educational process,” the Ministry of Education noted.

    School uniform for girls:

The uniform for girls consists of the following set of clothes: blouse, vest, skirt, trousers, dress, apron, jacket – in various combinations, made in a classic style.

The jacket, dress and trousers are made from plain or checkered fabric (black, grey, blue and dark red).

The jacket can be single-breasted or double-breasted, semi-fitted or straight cut.

The vest is cut in a classic style, in a basic or checkered color. The buttons of the jacket and vest should match the color of the suit/skirt and be simple.

The buttons of the jacket and vest should match the color of the suit/skirt and be simple.

The trousers are straight cut, slightly tapering towards the bottom is allowed. The skirt can be straight, flared or tapered, as well as pleated or pleated. The minimum length of a skirt (dress) is 5 cm below the knee, the maximum is up to the middle of the shin.

The blouse is sewn from cotton fabric, with long or short sleeves. Acceptable colors: white, light gray, light blue, light yellow.

The set may include a classic tie that matches the main color of the uniform or a contrasting one.

A set of school uniforms for girls must be in the same color scheme. A combination of no more than three colors is allowed.

    School uniform for boys:

The uniform for boys and teenagers consists of a shirt, vest, trousers and jacket in various combinations.

The jacket, vest and trousers are sewn from plain fabric (black, grey, blue and dark red) in a classic style.

The jacket can be single-breasted or double-breasted, semi-fitting or straight silhouette.

The vest is made in a classic style, in the color of the trousers or jacket, or in a checkered pattern.

A set of school uniforms for boys must be in the same color scheme. A combination of no more than three colors is allowed.

The Ministry of Education added that a uniform and discreet uniform reduces social differences between children, prevents competition in clothing and pressure related to financial status.
