Muhammad Junaid, the father of the Palestinian child Ayoub, said that his son has suffered from severe visual impairment since his childhood after contracting meningitis fever that left effects on his vision. He explained that the family was monitoring his condition using medical glasses until his glasses size reached 29 degrees, while this size was not available, which forced him to use glasses of size 26 for about 3 years without change.

He added in a telephone conversation with the journalist Shorouk Emad El-Din, presenter of the “Extra Today” program, on the “Extra News” channel, that Ayoub was feeling great suffering because of his weak eyesight, and he was trying to go out to get food despite his health conditions, before he stumbled and fell on his face while returning from one of the food distribution points, which led to the lens of his glasses being broken and then completely shattered the next day, in the absence of a suitable replacement for it.

Junaid explained that the Egyptian Relief Committee People of Gaza She responded to his son’s treatment as quickly as possible, as she quickly communicated with the family, where she took the child and presented him with new glasses, along with a number of gifts, supplies, and lighting for the tent, expressing his thanks and appreciation for the role played by the committee.
He confirmed that Ayoub became very happy after receiving the new glasses, and that joy spread throughout the family and neighbors after he regained his ability to see better. He pointed out that the committee members continued to follow up on the child’s condition for long hours until their mission was fully accomplished. Ayoub’s father indicated that his son still needs surgery on his eyes outside the Gaza Strip, expressing his hope to obtain a referral for treatment and to complete the assistance that was promised to the family. He also thanked the Egyptian people, stressing the Palestinians’ appreciation for the support provided by Egypt to the people of Gaza over the years, and praising the continuous support that contributed to bringing a smile back to the face of his son Ayoub.
