Azerbaijan continuously submits an application to the European Court of Human Rights, asking to cancel the interim measure, by which Azerbaijan is obliged to submit a regular report on the conditions of detention of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan, their health condition. Azerbaijan assures that all processes are transparent and public.
ECHR in 2026 on April 9, rejected another application of Azerbaijan, once again obliging the government of Azerbaijan to continue to provide information about the conditions of detention of the detainees, as well as their latest medical cards and other documents regarding the conducted medical examinations and treatment. The ECHR has also obliged to submit copies of judgments or summaries of judgments issued within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated against Armenian prisoners, which must include the reasoning of the judges who passed the judgment, based on the evidence in the case.
The next deadline for submitting the report is 2026. It is August 31.
