Antigua and Barbuda is celebrating another regional pageant success after Dominica-born Milove Fontaine, who represented the twin-island nation, was crowned Miss Elegantly Plus Caribbean Queen 2026 in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, over the weekend.
Fontaine, who is originally from Fond Cole, Dominica, and now resides in Antigua and Barbuda, captured the coveted regional title on Sunday night during the Miss Elegantly Plus Caribbean Queen Pageant at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.
Her victory followed an outstanding performance that saw her dominate several of the competition’s major categories. In addition to winning the crown, Fontaine captured four judged titles—Top Model 2026, Best Evening Wear, Best On-Stage Interview, and Best Ambassadorial Presentation. She also secured the People’s Choice Award, an unjudged title determined by public voting.
Speaking exclusively to Antigua.News following her victory, Fontaine described the moment as overwhelming.
“I was so elated when I heard the segments that I was winning. Something about that just had me very speechless. I was just standing there, and when it was time to crown the queen, in my head I’m like, ‘Yeah, Milove, you won.’ But when it was said, I had an overwhelming feeling. I wanted to scream, I wanted to cry, I wanted to smile, I wanted to laugh. I just stood there, smiling, just embracing the moment. It was a wonderful feeling.”
She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Antigua and Barbuda, whose votes helped her secure the People’s Choice Award.
The regional competition featured contestants representing Antigua and Barbuda, the British Virgin Islands, and the United States Virgin Islands. Fontaine competed against host representative Krystle Maduro and Jah’Millia Maloney of the US Virgin Islands, who won the Resort Wear and Tourism Reel awards.
Fontaine’s latest achievement adds to an already distinguished pageant career. She previously captured the Miss Charisma 2020 title and has now added one of the Caribbean’s premier plus-size pageant crowns to her growing list of accomplishments.
Her performance throughout the competition embodied the pageant’s mission of celebrating confidence, beauty and empowerment, with judges recognizing her poise, eloquence and ambassadorial qualities.
Though proud of her Dominican roots in Fond Cole, Fontaine represented Antigua and Barbuda with distinction, bringing regional recognition to her adopted home while inspiring audiences across the Caribbean with her remarkable journey.
