“Sport AKIpress” – A native of Kyrgyzstan, Dmitry Bivol (24-1, 12 knockouts) will defend his IBF championship title.
He will fight on May 30th at a boxing event presented by RCC Boxing Promotions.
Bivol’s opponent will be IBF mandatory challenger Michael Eifert (13-1, 5 KOs) from Germany.
For Bivol, this is the second defense of the absolute champion title after defeating Artur Beterbiev in February 2025.
Last spring, the World Boxing Council (WBC) stripped Bivol of his title due to his refusal to defend against American David Benavidez, who became the new world champion according to the organization.
The WBO, WBA and IBF, whose belts Bivol holds, reported that they do not plan to deprive the athlete of the world champion title. At the same time, the organizations noted the importance of defending the championship belt.
