The basic public prosecutor’s office in Skopje opened an investigative procedure against a 36-year-old man from Skopje suspected of domestic violence, bodily harm, endangering safety and causing general danger.
According to information from Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Skopjethe incident happened last night around midnight in the family home in Skopje, where the suspect physically attacked his wife and her mother.
The prosecution states that he first threatened his wife and their two minor children, aged four and six. When his wife asked him to stop, he pushed her away and inflicted physical injuries on her.
Then he started breaking furniture and swung a table club at his wife’s mother, injuring her in the leg and chest area. According to the prosecutor’s office, the suspect made life threats to the family members, and at one point he took out a knife and brandished it, causing fear and a feeling of insecurity among those present.
After the wife’s call for help, her father and brother arrived at the home, but the suspect continued to threaten them. During the incident, he also released his dog of the Sharplanin breed, which attacked one of the victims and caused injuries to his upper arm and lower leg.
The Prosecutor’s Office points out that due to the danger of escape and the possibility of repeating the crime, to the judge of the preliminary procedure at Basic Criminal Court Skopje a proposal for determining the measure of detention has been submitted.
