Businesswoman Tricia Marajh, 36, of 40 Riverside Road, Curepe, was shot and killed on Wednesday afternoon while reportedly inspecting a motor vehicle along the side of the roadway.
It happened at around 4:30 p.m. Marajh was standing on the side of the road to view a motor vehicle when she noticed an individual wearing a mask and a dark-coloured hat exit the rear left passenger door of a gold Nissan Tiida. Several explosions followed, and Marajh was struck multiple times.
She fell to the ground and was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex. Despite emergency medical attention, Marajh was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m. from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
Officers recovered ten 9mm spent shells and Marajh’s cellphone as evidence.
The vehicle used by the shooter was a gold Nissan Tiida.
Marajh owned a poultry and cake making business and bought and sold used cars.
