Police are investigating a reported kidnapping and rape in the Freeport district.
According to police reports, around 5 a.m. on Monday, a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were asleep at their home in Freeport, when they were awakened by a man known to them.
Police said the suspect allegedly took the pair against their will to a location in Freeport.
While at that location, the suspect raped the woman.
Investigators said that sometime later, the male victim went to the Couva Police Station and made a report. A party of officers subsequently proceeded to the Freeport location where the female victim was found.
Both victims were later taken to the Freeport Police Station as investigations continued.
The suspect has been identified by police.
