Clint Williamson, the former US Attorney who investigated Dick Marty’s claims, has said that he would be “surprised” if the Special Court continued with further investigations after the conviction of the former KLA leaders.
Williamson, in an interview for Kallxo.com, added that he would be “surprised” if the mandate of the Special Court was extended.
“I would be very surprised if there was a continuation of the investigation. I think there are still some other secondary issues related to witness intimidation and issues of that nature that are being dealt with by the court. But I think the main work of the court will end with this verdict. Therefore, I would personally be surprised if the mandate of the court was extended to consider other cases”, he declared.
Otherwise, on September 16, the former leaders of the KLA, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, were sentenced by the Special Court, with a total sentence of 81 years.
