He Medical College of Honduras (CMH) This Sunday he called for a extraordinary assembly of an informative nature aimed at doctors nationwide, without distinction of their contracting modality.
The day will take place this April 12, at a time of 7:00 in the morning to 7:00 at nightand is aimed at professionals who work in different State institutions, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Security and Labor, Public Ministry, Forensic Medicine, National 911 Emergency System, National Penitentiary Institute, Honduran Institute of Social Security (IHSS), Copeco, as well as resident doctors and staff from other decentralized entities.
According to the call, the doctors who they provide services in hospitals and care centers must meet at their respective workplaces.
Meanwhile, the sole doctors in their centers, 911 personnel or those who have been laid off must go to the CMH Convention Center in Tegucigalpa or to the corresponding medical delegations.
The union detailed a series of demands, including the immediate cessation of layoffs, the reinstatement of laid-off doctors, the payment of outstanding salaries, the signing of contracts and the centralization of decentralized health networks.
Likewise, they demand compliance with the base salary, a salary adjustment in accordance with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the increase corresponding to the year 2026.
Among other points, they also request the allocation of 12% of the General Budget of the Republic to the health sector.
The CMH established that attendance at the assembly is mandatory and that lists will be created as a verification mechanism. He also warned that unjustified absence could lead to sanctions.
However, the union indicated that the continuity of emergency services and critical areas must be guaranteed, so service heads were instructed to schedule the necessary personnel to avoid impacts on patient care.
