The official of the European Union, Amina Cikotić, announced that yesterday’s appearance by the Minister of Defense Dragan Krapović in the Parliament of Montenegro was a direct attempt to publicly persecute and intimidate the opposition MP.
“Threats that the institutions run by the Democrats, especially Minister Šaranović, will deal with colleague Nikola Zirojević are a direct threat and an announcement of the abuse of the security sector in dealing with the opposition MP. Let me remind you that instead of providing the public with answers to questions that interest our citizens, Krapović used the podium to call his colleague Zirojević “immature”, claims that he is “easy to manage”, that he is “stimulated” for his political activities, that he is “intelligence and security compromised” and even that he is a “danger” for the parliamentary bodies of which he is a member. Finally, he said that the institutions will “deal with him”, she points out.
Cikotić states that “it is particularly worrisome that the Minister of Defense gives himself the right to link an opposition MP with organized crime without any evidence, target him in front of the entire public and practically judge his suitability for the performance of parliamentary duties”.
“Obviously, colleague Zirojević hit the target with the question, so serious nervousness followed in the ranks of the Democrats. The only thing left is for the minister to prove everything he stated or to resign for the untruths,” concluded the official of the European Union.
