Convention: The provincial council of Chtouka Aït Baha held, on Tuesday, an extraordinary session devoted to the examination and approval of a partnership and cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening the school transport fleet.
Chaired by the president of the council, Aïdar Assit, in the presence of the governor of the province, Mohamed Salem Sebti, this session was an opportunity to highlight the importance of this agreement, which provides for the acquisition of 30 buses intended to support school transport services in the different municipalities of the province and to improve the services offered to beneficiaries, as well as to strengthen and promote the logistical means linked to school transport.
It is also about supporting the efforts made by the various stakeholders to promote schooling and fight against dropping out of school, particularly among girls in rural areas, and to improve the indicators of the education system in the province.
This agreement is the result of an institutional partnership between the wilaya of the Souss Massa region, the prefecture of the province of Chtouka Aït Baha, the group of local authorities of Greater Agadir for transport and urban travel, the Agadir local development company for transport and urban travel, the regional direction of the National Road Safety Agency for the Souss Massa region, as well as the provincial council of Chtouka Aït Baha.
It should be noted that the school transport fleet in the province benefits more than 20,000 students, half of whom are girls. It constitutes one of the main levers for mitigating the phenomenon of school dropouts and improving school enrollment indicators in the different zones.
