Rosie Travel Group in partnership with Fiji Airways, Tourism Fiji and resort partners had recently welcomed two back-to-back chartered flights from Salt Lake City, Utah, bringing an investment of $10 million into the economy.
These two flights had brought in more than 450 international visitors that were part of an incentive for a seven-night program at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort and InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa.
In a statement yesterday, Rosie Travel Group said the client Morris Meetings & Incentives are based in Utah and involved in the finance sector.
According to the family-owned tourism company, the Fiji trip was part of a rewards program for their top employees and families.
“Rosie sees immense potential in the USA conference and incentive travel market,” the statement said.
“The incentive group will enjoy a range of unique Fijian experiences, including excursions with Sigatoka River Safari, an exclusive private buyout of Malamala Beach Club, and a series of off-site evening events curated by Rosie Events.
“The program is expected to inject more than $10m into the Fijian economy, with spending distributed across resorts, transport providers, excursion operators, and local village communities in the Sigatoka region.” Rosie Holidays managing director Tony Whitton said they were grateful to successfully execute the USA Inventive charter group alongside their partners and client. “Rosie Holidays, together with our national airline, Tourism Fiji, and our hotel partners, has been working alongside our client Morris Meetings & Incentives for the past 18 months to bring this event to life,” Mr Whitton said.
“This included presentations in Utah and coordinating a site inspection visit to Fiji last year.
“We are delighted to see these plans come to fruition. When we pitched Fiji, we were competing directly against destinations in the Caribbean and across the Pacific.
“Our success was driven by Fiji’s strong national airline with its modern fleet, internationally recognised resort brands located in one of the world’s most pristine destinations, and a vibrant living culture supported by some of the warmest and happiest people on earth.”
