The C leader gave a hopeful speech based on faith in the future during the party’s day in Almedalen.
On the internet, it’s the fringes that rule. But at the kitchen table, reasonableness is the new radical. At the kitchen table, people want to solve problems that exist in healthcare, in schools, on the climate and on jobs. But not with the fringes’ solutions.
There were also no attacks – which the C leader emphasized in front of 2,200 people in the audience.
I have not spent this speech talking about who caused what, or about the mistakes of other parties. I have only highlighted the problems we see and talked about how we can solve them. For the citizens of Sweden, politicians who run for office deserve solutions, not excuses.
“Equal for all”
The Center Party wants to create 150,000 new jobs during the next term. One of the major focus areas of the speech was also jobs and entrepreneurship. The party wants to replace today’s earned income tax deduction by making the first 15,300 kronor of the monthly salary tax-free – which would create up to 50,000 new jobs, according to Thand Ringqvist.
Equal for everyone. Easy to understand. Biggest tax cut for those who earn the least.
That would be 1,200 SEK per month in reduced tax for a person with a monthly salary of 25,000 SEK and it is estimated to cost 24.2 billion SEK per year, says Thand Ringqvist.
According to her, this would mean a reduction for everyone who earns up to 40,000 kronor.
It’s money that makes a difference. Money for food on the table, children’s extracurricular activities, savings.
Reduced taxes for farmers
The Center Party also wants to lower taxes for farmers, including through an agricultural deduction that means a tax reduction of 7 percent for agricultural companies.
Young farmers will also be able to take out a special start-up loan. The Center Party also wants to increase Sweden’s food self-sufficiency rate from 50 percent to at least 80 percent and set a goal of half a million more grazing animals in the country.
“It is clear that we cannot increase our self-sufficiency rate to 80 if we do not have more grazing animals. And the best thing about more grazing animals is that it also keeps the landscapes open, which contributes to biodiversity,” said the C leader during a speech from a tractor bed this morning.
