Residents of North Leeward who own and operate businesses will get an opportunity next week to access training and business advice at a Business Clinic.
The Centre for Enterprise Development Inc. (CED) will conduct the fourth in a series of Business Clinics under its ‘Unlocking Opportunities Through Climate Change Initiatives’ (UOCCI) Project, on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Wafulasun Sports Bar in Cumberland.
The CED is extending an invitation to small business operators and persons who want to start a business on the leeward side of the island, to attend the Business Clinic and meet individually with its Business Development Officers (BDOs) to discuss issues affecting their businesses.
“In addition, the Business Clinics will help the CED improve its technical support services and develop programs to better serve the business sector,” CED said in a release.
Residents of North Leeward and other communities on the leeward side of St. Vincent are being urged to take advantage of the opportunity and attend the Business Clinic.
The CED said to date, it has held Business Clinics in Barrouallie, Mesopotamia and Georgetown under the three-year UOCCI Project which is funded by the Organization of American States (OAS), through its Development Cooperation Fund (DCF), and is being implemented under the OAS/DCF 2024-2027 programming cycle to support, recognize and foster the contributions of women and under-served communities to create a more inclusive and effective approach to climate action that benefits everyone.
The goal of the UOCCI Project is to reduce the impact of climate change to enhance livelihoods and increase economic opportunities for women and vulnerable communities.
