The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Haircalled on Chavismo to mobilize this Thursday, April 9, the same day that the union movement and workers call to march towards Miraflores to demand wage demands.
“They do not understand that this country wants peace and tranquility, they are not going to understand it, they continue with their agenda of violence, they are going to try and do anything to generate violence. We are cured and we know how to respond in any case”, Cabello warned, without making direct reference to the activity called by the workers.
In a speech from the Psuv headquarters in Caracas, the Minister of the Interior and Justice also said that the march will be to “celebrate” 20 years of the Community Councils Law and for the peace of the country.
“Community Councils take to the streets for peace“, he called in the company of members of the National Directorate of the Psuv, such as Francisco Ameliach and Iris Varela.
He also announced that, like every year, Chavismo will remember with street events the events of April 11 to 13, 2002, to commemorate the coup d’état against Hugo Chávez and his rapid return to power at the hands of the military.
Greetings to Maduro and Flores
Cabello’s statements, broadcast on VTV, lasted just 15 minutes. He did not allow questions from the state media press. In his words he included a greeting to Nicolas Maduro and the deputy Cilia Floresdetained in USAawaiting trial for crimes such as narcoterrorism, drug trafficking and weapons possession.
“Our respect and our affection (…) sooner rather than later they will be back with their party, their people,” he said.
The National Union Coalition He reiterated his call to march this Thursday, April 9, in Caracas, to demand better salaries and pensions. The destination, they confirmed, will be the surroundings of the Miraflores Palace.
The general secretary of the Foreign Ministry Workers Union and member of the Coalition, José Patines, expressed in a video broadcast this weekend on social networks that the protest seeks to demand an immediate salary increase and job improvements in the midst of the deep economic crisis that affects the country.
“Taking advantage of this moment to make the call for this April 9, where all Venezuelans are going to march towards Miraflores in protest and looking for an answer from the Rodríguez brothers (Delcy and Jorge), in charge today of the government of Venezuela put in place by the government of Donald Trump,” he stated.
