Boxer “Lupe” Medina signs with Jake Paul’s promoter

MVP announced on June 4, 2026 the incorporation of Medina, 22, who comes to the promoter as one of the main promises of women’s boxing. The Nicaraguan-American boxer currently occupies second place in the rankings of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and the International Boxing Federation (IBF).

Guadalupe “Lupe” Medina — known in the world as “Baby Face Assassin” — will join “MVPW”, a new global platform for women’s boxing, promoted by the promoter to give greater visibility to the best athletes in this sport.

Guadalupe Yomira Medina is the daughter of Nicaraguan parents, originally from Estelí. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, “eating gallo pinto and learning from Alexis Argüello’s fights,” according to what she said. in a report published in CONFIDENCIALin May 2026.

“I feel incredibly honored and grateful to join MVP. To be part of a promotion that is revolutionizing women’s boxing and giving athletes the platform they deserve. It’s exactly where I want to be,” the boxer said in a press release.

“Being welcomed into a team that truly believes in female boxers means a lot, and I’m looking forward to doing my part so that women’s boxing continues to grow,” added the boxer of Nicaraguan origin.

Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian highlighted the potential of the young boxer. “‘Lupita’ Medina is on the verge of achieving greatness. We believe she has everything it takes to become Nicaragua’s next world champion,” they noted.

Guadalupe “Lupe” Medina will join Nicaraguan sisters Yokasta and Naomy Valle, as the athletes, of Nicaraguan descent, who belong to MVP. The Valle sisters were signed in 2025. Most Valuable Promotions was founded in 2021. It has hosted 30 professional boxing events and currently represents more than 60 boxers, including 18 world champions and 26 top-level contenders.

The career of Guadalupe “Lupe” Medina

“Lupe’s” father, Julio César Rugama Medina, was an amateur boxer in Nicaragua before joining the Patriotic Military Service in the 1980s. When he moved to Los Angeles, he taught the sport to his eldest son, Amed Ali Medina, but he resisted Guadalupe entering the gym.

He offered to pay him “whatever he wanted” as long as he would stay away from the gloves. However, little “Lupe” had another idea. While her brother trained, she secretly practiced everything she observed in her room. “Everything they taught my brother, I went home and practiced secretly,” Guadalupe told CONFIDENCIAL.

At the age of eight he convinced his father with a promise that he already knew he would not keep: “I just wanted to learn, not fight.” A month after stepping into the gym for the first time, he already had his boxing license.

Guadalupe “Lupe” Medina began boxing in 2012 and quickly established herself as an elite amateur boxer, winning five National Youth Olympic Championships before turning professional in 2022. The young Nicaraguan-American fights in the minimum weight class (105 pounds).

The boxer is ambidextrous and trains with Edgar Jasso, Manny Robles and Matias Erbin at the Legends Boxing Academy and resides in Maywood, California.

Outside of the ring, Medina is studying marketing at California State University, Long Beach, and is currently on academic leave to focus on his boxing career.
