Ulaanbaatar,
April 21, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Since the launch of the “Billions of Trees” National Movement initiated by President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, a total of 163
million saplings have been secured nationwide by 452 households, businesses,
cooperatives, and partnerships across Mongolia. The
figure is four times higher than last year.
For
the 2026 spring tree-planting movement, Mongolia has set a target of planting
50 million trees nationwide.
Ahead
of National Tree Planting Day, the “Billions of Trees” Expo will be held for 20
days starting April 25 at the Central Stadium in Ulaanbaatar. A total of 80
organizations will participate, offering certified saplings directly to the
public from reliable sources.
Additional
expos will also be held at Jukov Square, Barilgachdiin Square, and the Cultural
Center Square in Nalaikh District.
The
expo aims to promote knowledge-sharing on tree planting, support environmental
restoration, increase public and institutional participation, and unite efforts
for a greener future.
As part of
the “Billions of Trees” Movement, National Tree Planting Day will be observed
nationwide for one month beginning May 1 this year.
